Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of IRS1 only when phosphorylated at Serine 636.
Target Information
IRS-1 is a major substrate of the insulin receptor and is phosphorylated in response to stimulation by insulin, IGF-1, and IL-4. It is phosphorylated on serine, threonine, and tyrosine residues across various tissues. Casein kinase II mediates part of the insulin-stimulated serine/threonine phosphorylation of IRS-1. Key phosphorylation sites include Thr 502 and Ser 99. IRS-1 also contains three putative 14-3-3 binding sites (Ser 270, Ser 374, Ser 641), with the motif around Ser 270 located in the phosphotyrosine binding domain responsible for interaction with the insulin receptor.
