이 단백질은 glioma, prostate cancer, synovial sarcoma, neuroblastoma, colon cancer, adrenocortical cancer, lung cancer, Wilms’ tumor, hepatoblastoma 등 여러 암종에서 과발현됩니다.
IGFBP2의 과발현은 종양의 공격성과도 상관관계가 있으며, matrix metalloprotease 2의 발현을 활성화하여 세포 침습성을 증가시킵니다.
