• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
• For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Assay Information:
Immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum, anti-Peroxidase, and purified or partially purified GFP (Aequorea victoria) Serum.
No reaction observed against Human, Mouse, and Rat Serum Proteins.

Target Information

The jellyfish Aequorea victoria contains green fluorescent protein (GFP Tag) that emits light in the bioluminescence reaction of the animal. GFP is widely used as a reporter protein for gene expression and as a protein tag in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms.

As a fusion tag, GFP enables localization studies, movement tracking, and research on subcellular compartment dynamics. GFP technology provides insights into physiological activities of living cells.

• GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein forming a fluorescent pigment autocatalytically.
• Absorbs blue light (max 395 nm) and emits green light (peak 508 nm).
• Fluorescence is stable, species-independent, and suitable for various applications.
• Commonly used for monitoring gene expression, protein localization, protein-protein interactions (yeast two-hybrid), and FRET experiments.
