This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, chicken, and rat based on 100% sequence homology.
In Western blot, this antibody is specific for the ~90 kDa RSK2 protein.
Target Information
RPS6KA2 (RSK3) serine/threonine kinase is a member of the ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK) family. It is believed that RPS6KA2 acts as a signal-transducing intermediate in cellular responses to several growth factors.
It is expressed in many tissues, with higher levels in lung and skeletal muscle.
The p90 ribosomal S6 kinases (RSK1–4) are downstream members of the ERK/MAPK cascade.
Loss of RSK2 activity in humans leads to Coffin-Lowry syndrome, characterized by mental retardation and growth deficits, and may have a tonic regulation on G-protein coupled signaling.
