Target Information
Guanylyl cyclases catalyze the conversion of GTP to cGMP and exist in soluble and membrane-bound forms. Membrane guanylyl cyclases (GC-A to GC-F) act as cell-surface receptors with extracellular ligand-binding, transmembrane, and intracellular catalytic domains. GC-A (NPR1) serves as a receptor for atrial and brain natriuretic peptides (ANP and BNP), playing a key role in cardiovascular and renal regulation.
