Target Information
Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases activated by calcium and diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate diverse protein targets and participate in various cellular signaling pathways. They also act as receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each PKC isoform has a distinct expression profile and cellular role.
