Target Information
Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases activated by calcium and diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate diverse protein targets and are involved in multiple cellular signaling pathways. They also act as receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each PKC isoform exhibits distinct expression patterns and cellular functions.
