Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (eIF4B)는 40S 리보솜 소단위를 mRNA로 유도하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질은 eIF4F 및 eIF4A와 밀접하게 작용하며, eIF4F와 ATP 존재하에서 mRNA의 5'-말단 캡 근처에 결합합니다.
또한 eIF4A 및 eIF4F의 ATPase 활성과 ATP 의존적 RNA helicase 활성을 촉진합니다.
