Description:
The WM59 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed by endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD31 plays roles in adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and signal transduction.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration is advised.

Storage and Handling:
Use in a sterile environment.

0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling via ITIM motifs. It is mainly expressed at endothelial junctions and mediates cell-cell interactions through homophilic binding. CD31 contributes to integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and immune regulation, playing a key role in vascular homeostasis.
