Product Specific Information

The OX39 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha (IL-2Rα).
CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineages and activated mature T and B lymphocytes.
By itself, CD25 binds IL-2 with low affinity, but associates with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain) to form the high-affinity IL-2 receptor.
CD25 plays a key role in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.

The OX39 clone has been shown to deplete CD25⁺ cells in vivo.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis and functional depletion assays.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of rat splenocytes; ≤0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain / IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation.
The IL2 receptor complex consists of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG subunits forming a high-affinity receptor.
IL2 is primarily produced by mature T cells and functions as a growth and differentiation factor.
It also regulates cell death, stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency.
