Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family of proteins regulates programmed cell death triggered by various stimuli. All IAPs possess at least one baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) motif essential for their anti-apoptotic activity.
A serine protease, Omi/HtrA2, is released from mitochondria upon apoptotic stimulation and binds to IAPs. Like Smac/DIABLO, the mature Omi protein contains a conserved IAP-binding motif (AVPS) at its N-terminus. Deregulated expression of Omi in the cytoplasm induces apoptosis, suggesting its role in the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.
