Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments found in epithelial cells, including keratinizing (skin) and non-keratinizing (mesothelial) tissues. Though not typical endothelial markers, some microvascular endothelial cells express cytokeratins.
Over 20 different CKs (40–70 kDa, pI 5–8.5) can be identified via two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. CKs are categorized as:
- Type I: acidic polypeptides
- Type II: basic polypeptides
Each epithelial cell expresses at least one member from each family. Monoclonal antibodies to cytokeratin proteins are valuable for tumor identification and classification.
