Product Specific Information
The 2D10.4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD80 (B7-1), a 60 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. CD80 is expressed by activated B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T cells. It binds with high affinity to T cell surface antigens CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4), playing a crucial role in T-B cell communication and activation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Optimal titration is advised per assay.
Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE)
Aggregation: <10% (HPLC)
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands of the T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells, essential for T cell activation, and can substitute for each other.
CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells, EBV-transformed B cell lines, Burkitt’s lymphoma cells, follicular B lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes.
It provides regulatory signals for T lymphocytes via CD28 and CTLA4 binding.
Diseases associated with CD80 dysfunction include gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
