Product Specific Information
The 16-10A1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD80 (B7-1), a 55 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. CD80 is expressed by macrophages, dendritic cells, activated B cells, and activated T cells. It binds strongly to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4) on T cells, playing a crucial role in T-B cell communication and activation.

Applications Tested:
Validated by flow cytometric analysis of activated mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Cell count may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize titration for best performance.

Target Information
CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands for T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation. CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells and is found in EBV-transformed, Burkitt’s lymphoma, follicular B lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes.
CD80 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
