STAT5 alpha는 STAT 전사인자 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 사이토카인 및 성장인자 자극에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동해 전사 활성화에 관여합니다. IL2, IL3, IL7, GM-CSF, 에리트로포이에틴, 트롬보포이에틴 등 다양한 리간드에 반응하며, 세포 생존 및 성장 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. STAT5 alpha는 항아폽토시스 단백질 BCL2L1/BCL-X(L) 발현을 유도하며, 생식, 수유, 면역 기능 및 체성 성장 등 다양한 생리적 기능에 관여합니다.
