Specificity: Binds to a core functional region of murine IL-4, preventing this cytokine from interacting with its cognate receptor.
Target Information
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 exhibits a broad range of actions and shares overlapping functions with IL13 via the interleukin 4 receptor. STAT6 plays a key role in mediating IL-4’s immune regulatory signaling. The IL-4 gene, along with IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2, forms a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q. IL-4 is located near IL13, and these genes are co-regulated by long-range elements over approximately 120 kb. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant of IL-4.
