This peptide corresponds to an 18 amino acid sequence near the amino terminus of human SDPR.
PEP-1564 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34521.
For use as a blocking peptide in Western blot, incubate the peptide with an equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37°C.

Target Information

The serum deprivation-response protein (SDPR) is a calcium-independent phospholipid-binding protein whose expression increases in serum-starved cells.
SDPR is a substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) phosphorylation and recruits the polymerase I and transcript release factor (PTRF) to caveolae.
Loss of SDPR results in caveolae loss, while overexpression leads to caveolae deformation and membrane tubulation.
SDPR, PTRF, and PRKCDBP (another cavin family member) are downregulated in breast cancer cell lines and tissues, suggesting that cavin family protein expression may serve as a prognostic indicator for breast cancer progression.
