This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids near the center of human Nucleobindin-2.
PEP-1569 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34526.
For use as a blocking peptide in Western blot, incubate the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 min at 37ºC.
Target Information
NUCB2 was initially identified as a calcium-binding protein containing an EF-hand motif that binds with Necdin, a growth suppressor expressed primarily in postmitotic neurons.
NUCB2 is a secreted protein cleaved into three major peptide products—Nesfatin-1, Nesfatin-2, and Nesfatin-3—of which Nesfatin-1 has been found to suppress food intake in a leptin-independent manner.
Other studies suggest that NUCB2/Nesfatin-1 may also play roles in energy homeostasis and related neuroendocrine functions.
