BNIP1 (BCL2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa-interacting protein 1)는 BNIP 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 바이러스 유도 세포 사멸을 억제하는 E1B 19 kDa 단백질 및 BCL2의 유사 서열과 상호작용합니다. 이 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱은 기능이 알려지지 않은 4개의 전사 변형체를 생성합니다. BNIP1 전사 변형체는 유전자 전체 코딩 영역을 포함하며, 세포 자멸사 관련 BH3 도메인을 보존하고 있습니다.
