Target Information
ATF3 (Activating transcription factor 3)는 mammalian activation transcription factor/cAMP responsive element-binding (CREB) 단백질 패밀리에 속하는 전사 인자입니다. 약 22 kDa의 분자량을 가지며, ATF binding elements를 포함하는 프로모터에서 전사를 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 형태인 ATF3 delta Zip은 leucine zipper 단백질 이합체화 모티프가 결여되어 DNA에 결합하지 않으며, 억제 보조 인자를 격리시켜 전사를 촉진할 수 있습니다. 이러한 스플라이싱은 표적 유전자 조절에 생리적으로 중요한 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
