Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of a mixture of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and lot-to-lot consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.
Each lot contains a known mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibodies.

Target Information

CD49f (Integrin alpha-6, ITGA6) is an integrin alpha chain protein that forms part of cell-surface receptors involved in cell adhesion and signaling.
Integrins are heterodimeric proteins composed of alpha and beta subunits, which can pair in various combinations to form different integrins such as alpha6beta4 (TSP180) or alpha6beta1 (VLA-6).
They mediate interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM), influencing cell morphology, motility, and proliferation.
CD49f is predominantly expressed in epithelial tissues and plays a structural role in hemidesmosomes.
Over 18 alpha and 8 beta integrin subunits with multiple isoforms have been identified in mammals. Certain integrins also bind to soluble ligands or counter-receptors like ICAMs, facilitating cell aggregation.
