Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, while maintaining the consistency of recombinant production.
Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies, they recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance proteins. However, because the antibody population is defined and reproducible, lot-to-lot variability is minimized.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, this product is now branded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody” with unchanged performance.
Target Information
AXIN1 is a cytoplasmic protein containing an RGS (regulation of G-protein signaling) domain and a DIX (disheveled and axin) domain. It functions as a negative regulator of the WNT signaling pathway, which controls embryonic axis formation.
AXIN1 interacts with APC, β-catenin, and GSK3β to form a tetrameric complex regulating β-catenin stabilization. Mutations in the AXIN1 gene are associated with various carcinomas, suggesting a tumor suppressor role.
