They are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and ensuring lot-to-lot consistency.

While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites and providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets—a recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibody has a defined mixture of light and heavy chains. This ensures reproducibility across production lots, eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Hiwi (PIWIL1) is a member of the Piwi/Argonaute protein family. It is specifically expressed in germline cells such as spermatocytes and round spermatids during spermatogenesis. Hiwi is also expressed in CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors, but not in CD34− hematopoietic cells, suggesting a role in maintaining hematopoietic stem cells.
