Target Information

TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. Secreted mainly by macrophages, it binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors. It regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.

TNF alpha forms multimers (dimers, trimers, or pentamers) and appears as a single 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE. It has roles in immune defense, tumor necrosis, and various diseases including autoimmune disorders, insulin resistance, and cancer.
