Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous ITIH1 protein at molecular weights of 71 kDa and 101 kDa.
Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

The inter-alpha trypsin inhibitor (ITI) family comprises plasma serine protease inhibitors synthesized in the liver, formed from combinations of heavy chains (ITI-H1, ITI-H2, ITI-H3) and a light chain (Bikunin).
ITI-H4 includes a Pro-rich region at its C-terminus. ITI is a glycoprotein composed of two heavy chains (ITI-H1, ITI-H2) and Bikunin linked by chondroitin sulfate.
Bikunin confers protease inhibitor function, while heavy chains (SHAPs) bind to hyaluronic acid (HA) for matrix stabilization.
ITI-H1 may stimulate phagocytotic cells and is associated with both antitumoral properties and malignant transformation of lung tissue.
ITI-H1 and ITI-H2 are linked to calcium oxalate stone formation in kidney and urine.
