Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry on PFA-fixed tissues, incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) at 95°C for 45 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Human growth hormone (hGH) is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones involved in growth regulation.
The GH1 gene resides on chromosome 17 along with four related genes sharing high sequence identity.
Alternative splicing produces five isoforms (19–24 kDa). hGH is secreted by pituitary somatotroph cells and acts through cytokine receptor family members to stimulate IGF-1 secretion, myoblast differentiation and proliferation, and protein synthesis in various tissues.
Mutations or deletions in GH1 can lead to growth hormone deficiency and short stature.
