Product Specific Information

  • For IHC of PFA-fixed tissues: incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • For formalin-fixed tissues: heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Human growth hormone (hGH) is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family involved in growth regulation.
The GH1 gene, located on chromosome 17, is part of a locus containing five highly similar genes.
Alternative splicing produces isoforms of 19–24 kDa.
hGH is secreted by pituitary somatotroph cells and acts via cytokine receptor family members.
It promotes growth by stimulating IGF-1 secretion, myoblast differentiation and proliferation, and protein synthesis.
Mutations or deletions in GH1 cause growth hormone deficiency and short stature.
