Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, less than 65% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Nectin-3 is observed.
- Less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Nectin-1, Nectin-2, and Nectin-4.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS before use.
Target Information
Nectin-3 is an 83 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily involved in cell-cell adhesion.
Nectins (1–4) mediate calcium-independent cell-cell interactions, forming various junctions such as adherens junctions, synaptic junctions, and Sertoli cell-spermatid junctions.
Nectin-3, also known as PRR3, is predominantly expressed in testis and placenta and interacts with afadin and CD155 (Poliovirus Receptor).
Three isoforms exist: Nectin-3α, -3β, and -3γ, with Nectin-3α being the largest.
Injection of anti-Nectin-3 antibody in seminiferous tubules disrupts actin filaments in Sertoli cells, affecting spermatid adhesion and maturation.
