Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse S100A9, S100A10, and recombinant human S100B is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins, containing two EF-hand motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of many cell types and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes form a cluster on chromosome 1q21, comprising at least 13 members. This protein may inhibit casein kinase and act as a cytokine. Altered expression has been linked to cystic fibrosis.
