Target Information
NOTCH3는 Drosophila melanogaster의 type I 막 단백질 notch의 인간 상동체 중 세 번째로 발견된 단백질입니다. Drosophila에서 notch와 세포 결합 리간드(delta, serrate)의 상호작용은 신경 발달에 중요한 역할을 하는 세포 간 신호 전달 경로를 형성합니다. 인간에서도 notch-ligand의 상동체가 확인되었으며, NOTCH3는 Jagged1, Jagged2, Delta1 등의 막 결합 리간드에 대한 수용체로 작용하여 세포 운명 결정(cell-fate determination)을 조절합니다.
NOTCH3 유전자 변이는 CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy)의 원인으로 확인되었습니다.
