Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1 mM EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is lung or prostate carcinoma.
Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by diverse biochemical properties, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides.
They range in molecular weight between approximately 40 kDa and 68 kDa and have isoelectric points between pH 4.9 and 7.8.
Each cytokeratin subtype (numbered 1–20) is expressed in specific epithelial types and reflects the degree of cellular differentiation.
Cytokeratin expression patterns are valuable for distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are widely used in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
