Product Specific Information
- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10–20 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
- Suggested positive control: breast carcinoma.

Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18)는 저분자량 케라틴의 산성(type A) 아형에 속하며, Cytokeratin 8과 함께 존재합니다. 위장관, 호흡기, 비뇨생식기, 내분비 및 외분비 조직, 중피세포 등에서 발현됩니다. 대부분의 선암 및 관암에서 발현되며, 편평세포암에서는 발현되지 않습니다. 간세포암에서는 Cytokeratin 8과 18만 발현됩니다.
Cytokeratin 18 유전자의 돌연변이는 cryptogenic cirrhosis와 관련이 있으며, 두 가지 전사 변이가 알려져 있습니다. Cytokeratin 아형 발현 패턴은 다양한 상피성 악성종양의 감별 진단에 활용되며, 면역조직화학, 세포병리학, 유세포분석(flow cytometry) 등 다양한 연구 응용에 유용합니다.
