Product Specific Information

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with mouse HDAC4 based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with HDAC4 from other species has not been determined.

Target Information

Histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) is responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4).
Histone deacetylation serves as an epigenetic repression marker and plays a vital role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events.
HDAC4 functions via large multiprotein complexes and is involved in muscle maturation through interactions with MEF2A, MEF2C, and MEF2D.
It also participates in MTA1-mediated epigenetic regulation of ESR1 expression in breast cancer.
Mutations in the HDAC4 gene have been linked to Brachydactyly-mental retardation syndrome (BDMR).
