Target Information
Cystic Fibrosis (CF)는 CFTR(cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) 유전자의 돌연변이에 의해 발생하는 대표적인 치명적 유전 질환입니다. CFTR은 cAMP에 의해 조절되는 염화이온 통로로, 약 70%의 CF 환자에서 508번째 위치의 페닐알라닌 결실(ΔF508)이 발견됩니다. 이 돌연변이는 비정상적인 염화이온 수송을 유발하며, 주로 폐 및 간 질환으로 이어집니다. 흥미롭게도 CFTR은 Salmonella typhi가 장 상피세포에 침투할 때 이용하는 경로로 알려져 있으며, ΔF508 변이를 가진 생쥐는 S. typhi의 장 점막하 흡수가 현저히 감소하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
