Target Information
Hairy and Enhancer-of-split homologues 5 (HES5) is a helix-loop-helix transcriptional factor that negatively regulates cell differentiation during embryogenesis. It contains one basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain and one Orange domain. HES5 acts as a downstream effector of the Notch Signaling Pathway and is expressed in advanced ovarian serous adenocarcinomas and cervical squamous carcinoma. It is also abundantly expressed in osteoarthritis along with Notch1 and Jagged1.
