Description:
The monoclonal antibody 1C2 recognizes mouse and rat CD42d (platelet glycoprotein V, GPV), a single transmembrane protein. CD42d interacts with CD42a, CD42b, and CD42c to form the receptor complex for von Willebrand factor and thrombin, playing a crucial role in platelet adhesion. Expression of CD42d is restricted to resting platelets and megakaryocytes, making it a valuable marker for megakaryocyte development.
