Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-1β. Anti-Murine IL-1β-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect mIL-1β by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-1β (500-P51) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant mIL-1β.

Western Blot:
To detect mIL-1β by Western blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant mIL-1β is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under both reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into the active 17 kDa form via inflammasome activation and caspase-1 processing. IL-1β lacks a classical signal peptide and is secreted through a noncanonical pathway. It signals via IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1α, and its activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA). IL-1β plays a key role in innate host defense and inflammation, and elevated levels are associated with chronic inflammatory diseases.
