Target Information
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) is a positive, single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the Flaviviridae family. Its genome (~10,000 nucleotides) encodes a single polyprotein (~3,000 amino acids), which is processed into structural and non-structural proteins essential for viral replication. Multiple HCV genotypes exist, showing variable responses to interferon alpha treatment.
