Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
UBA2 is involved in covalent attachment of one protein to another, a key posttranslational modification. Ubiquitin is the most well-known protein modifier, and its activation and transfer have been extensively studied. Recently, ubiquitin-like proteins such as SUMO (Sentrin) have gained attention for their roles in stabilizing target proteins and regulating sub-cellular localization. SUMO conjugation requires the coordinated action of the E1-activating enzyme SAE1/SAE2, the E2-conjugating enzyme Ubc9, and an E3-like SUMO ligase.
