Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of Bcr only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 360.
Target Information
A reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 22 and 9 produces the Philadelphia chromosome, commonly found in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia. The chromosome 22 breakpoint is located within the BCR gene, producing a fusion protein encoded by sequences from both BCR and ABL (chromosome 9). While the BCR-ABL fusion protein has been extensively studied, the normal BCR gene product functions as a serine/threonine kinase and a GTPase-activating protein for p21rac. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
