Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-45543 was sufficient for detection of Cav3.1 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately <200 kDa. Does not cross-react with Cav3.2.
  • This antibody was formerly sold as clone S178A-9.

Target Information

Voltage-dependent Ca²⁺ channels mediate calcium entry into excitable cells in response to membrane depolarization and are involved in processes such as muscle contraction, hormone and neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. These channels are multimeric complexes composed of alpha-1, beta, alpha-2/delta, and gamma subunits.
T-type calcium channels are activated and inactivated more rapidly and at more negative membrane potentials than other types, enhancing odor sensitivity by lowering the threshold of spike generation in olfactory receptor cells.
