Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45541 was sufficient for detection of Ankyrin-G in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate, assayed by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody. Detects approximately >200 kDa.
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S106-20.
Target Information
Ankyrin-G is expressed in various tissues including brain, where tissue-specific RNA processing produces two isoforms localized to axon initial segments and nodes of Ranvier. It is also found at epithelial cell-cell junctions and intracellular membranes. Ankyrin-G isoforms contain a serine/threonine-rich region following a globular head domain and are involved in maintaining and targeting ion channels and adhesion molecules to axon initial segments and nodes of Ranvier.
