Product Specific Information
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as an approximately 150 kDa band and upon reduction generates ~25 kDa (light chain) and ~50 kDa (heavy chain) bands.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Alpha-synuclein is a member of the synuclein family (including beta- and gamma-synuclein), abundant in the brain and involved in regulating synaptic transmission and membrane trafficking. Alpha- and beta-synuclein selectively inhibit phospholipase D2, suggesting roles in signaling pathways.
Mutations in the SNCA gene, encoding alpha-synuclein, are linked to Parkinson’s disease. Alpha-synuclein peptides are also major components of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s disease. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified.
