Description:
The MB19-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells throughout development except plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. Together with CD21, CD81, and MHC class II, CD19 forms a complex associated with the BCR. Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. Staining with MB19-1 is typically dimmer than with rat anti-mouse CD19 clone 6D5.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtered at 0.2 µm post-manufacturing.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a key regulator of B cell activation and proliferation, forming part of the B cell receptor (BCR) complex. It lowers the activation threshold for antigen receptor signaling and can also signal independently. Mutations in CD19 can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
