Product Specific Information

Description:
The SJ25C1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells throughout development except for terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. This molecule forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associated with the B cell receptor (BCR). Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. The SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use at 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Excitation / Emission:
488–561 nm / 578 nm (Blue, Green, Yellow-Green lasers)

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and regulates normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
