Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the BCL2 family, which regulates apoptosis through oligomer or heterodimer formation. It localizes to mitochondria and promotes cytochrome c release by interacting with the mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel. It also interacts with tumor suppressor P53 under stress conditions.
