Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is specific for mouse IL-27/p28 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with IL-27A/p28 from mouse sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Based on 90% or greater positive homology, cross-reactivity to rat is possible. Cross-reactivity with IL-27 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

IL-27, a member of the IL-12 family, is a heterodimeric protein composed of the p40-related protein EBI3 and the IL-12p35-related protein p28 (also known as IL-30).
Produced by activated APCs and mature dendritic cells, IL-27 acts on NK cells and naive CD4+ T cells.
Binding of IL-27 to WSX-1/gp130 activates JAK1, STAT1, and STAT3 phosphorylation.
WSX-1/TCCR-deficient mice show impaired Th1 responses and increased susceptibility to L. monocytogenes, indicating IL-27’s role in Th1 initiation.
IL-27 induces Th1-specific transcription factor T-bet and suppresses Th2-specific GATA-3.
It also exhibits potent antitumor activity by enhancing CTL generation and inhibiting tumor growth.
