Product Specific Information
- Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
- Aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below for long-term storage.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only immediately before use.
This antibody primarily recognizes mature 18 kDa mouse IL-18 and is useful in detecting its presence in various assays.
It also recognizes the 24 kDa inactive precursor form of mouse IL-18 and can detect rat IL-18 using similar dilutions.
A control of similarly diluted LOW ENDOTOXIN CONTROL RABBIT IgG (code #011-001-297) is recommended.
Target Information
IL-18 is a proinflammatory cytokine that induces IFN-γ production in T cells.
In combination with IL-12, it inhibits IL-4-dependent IgE and IgG1 production and enhances IgG2a production in B cells.
IL-18 binding protein interacts specifically with IL-18, regulating its biological activity negatively.
