Target Information
Fox-3 (also known as NEUN, HRNBP3, RBFOX3, or Fox-1 homolog C) is a 350 amino acid RNA-binding protein containing one RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. It is localized to both the nucleus and cytoplasm and is involved in the regulation of alternative splicing events.
The gene encoding Fox-3 is located on human chromosome 17, which contains over 1,200 genes, including two key tumor suppressors: p53 and BRCA1.
- p53: Maintains genomic integrity by balancing DNA repair and apoptosis.
- BRCA1: Involved in DNA repair and associated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancers.
