Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, rat, non-human primate, and avian species based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with the primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is cerebellum tissue.
Target Information
Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in various normal neurophysiologic processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes forming ligand-gated ion channels.
The classification of glutamate receptors is based on their activation by different pharmacologic agonists.
The subunit encoded by this gene belongs to the AMPA (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate)-sensitive glutamate receptor family and is subject to RNA editing (AGA→GGA; R→G).
Alternative splicing results in different isoforms with potentially distinct signal transduction properties.
